Carolyn O. Wimberly

November 15, 1931 — March 28, 2011

 On  November 15, 1931, Carolyn O. Wimberly was born to the late John D. Davis Sr. and Ruby J. Sinquefield, Clay Conty.  She was the 3rd oldest out of 15 children. God called her home at Joe Anne Burgin Nursing Home, Monday, March 28, 2011.      At an early age she joined Bethel A.M.E. Church in Fort Gaines, Georgia.     Later she was married to the late Mr. Booker T. Wimberly. They were married for 37 years. To this union 9 children  were born, 3 preceded her in death, Booker T. Wimberly Jr., Melvin Wimberly and Lee Norris Wimberly.     Mr. and Mrs. Wimberly  joined Proctor Chapel A.M.E. which later turned to Trinity Chapel Interdenominational Church     "Granny" joined with her daughter, at Faith Temple Church of Cuthbert in 1986. She served faithfully as a Sunday School Teacher, Minister, and Mother of the Church until her health failed.      She leaves to cherish her memories, 6 daughters, Pastor Gwendolyn (Eddie) Mallard, Albany, GA, Bettye G.(Reggie,Sr.) Fair, of Hartford, CT, Audrey (Walter Sr.) Jenkins, Springfield, MA, Tommie Wimberly, Belinda Wimberly and Pamela (Melvin Sr.) Tillman all of Cuthbert, GA. One step daughter, Judy (G.W.) Edwards, Cuthbert, GA. Six sisters, Rosell (Richard Sr.) Wallace, Miami, Fl., Anna Laura Neves (Tampla, FL), Christine (Homes) Ward, Bobbie Edwards, Willie Agnes (David Sr.) Burton, all of Miami, Fl., JoAnn(Ronald Sr.) Fair, Bloomfield, CT. One brother, Troy(Jo Ann) Davis, Miami, FL., Twenty grandchildren, thirty three great grand children and one great great grandson, Kyson. A faithful daughter-in-law, Genett Wimberly and a special friend Ms. Minnie C. Lee. A host of neices, nephews, relatives and friends.
