Morris Baptist Church Interment: Morris Baptist Church Cemetery Repast: Morris Baptist Church Kitchen On October 2, 1923, Gennie Grier was born to the late Roy and Alberta Grier in Quitman Co. GA.  She departed this life on Friday, May 13, 2011 at Joe Anne Burgin Nursing Home in Cuthbert, GA. From an early age, she was a dedicated and faithful member of Morris Baptist Church. She was raised by her loving aunt, the late Minnie Davis. She was the oldest of seven siblings, who all preceded her in death: Lonnie, Fletcher, Willie James, L.C., Willie D., and Roberta.  She also had two sons, Curtis and Cleveland, and one daughter, Mildred, to precede her in death. She leaves to cherish her loving memories seven children: Emma Ashley of Jacksonville, FL, Annie (Robert) Gilbert, Corene Henley of Columbus, GA, Mary Sue Scott of Eufaula, AL, Genett Wimberly of Cuthbert, GA, Freddie James Granger, Roy (Shirley) Grier of Orlando, FL.  She affectionately raised two of her twenty-nine grandchildren, Michelle (Tommy) Banks and Tonya Hart.  She will be truly missed by her fifty great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, five of her many many nieces and nephews: Elbert Charles, Cynthia, Jerry, Willie James, Rosa Ann; four sisters-in-law, Carrie, Catherine, Minnie, and Jessie Mae Smith; two special friends, Mae Rose Adams and Vanessa Davis; dedicated cousin and caretakers, Harry and Mamie Lee; one God daughter, Winifred Davis and a host of other relatives and friends.
