Funeral Services: Saturday, November 12, 2011 11:00 A.M. at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church Interment: Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery Repast: Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Samuel Fernandolph Shorter was born January 22, 1931, in Cuthbert, GA to the late Lucretia Shorter. Samuel was educated in the public school system of Randolph County.  At an early age, he joined Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Randolph County. In 1951, he relocated to Easton, PA.  He was employed with Treadwell Steel Mill, now Bethlehem Corporation.  He served in the United States Army from February 12, 1953 until February 10, 1955.  After completing his military service, Samuel returned to Easton and began working at Treadwell again.  He returned to Cuthbert after living many years in Easton. Soon after his return, he began working for McGregor Sporting Goods in Albany, GA.  McGregor transferred him to work at their Brunswick Corporation in Atlanta, GA.  He remained there until his retirement in the early 90's.  After his retirement, he went back to his roots in Cuthbert, GA. On Monday, November 7, 2011, God called Samuel to rest in His heavenly home.  He was preceded in death by his mother; a sister, Alegious Ransom; a brother, Dukes Shorter, Sr.; a niece, Eleanor Shorter; and a brother-in-law, Alexander Ransom. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, a daughter, Vivian Hankerson; two grandchildren and one great grandchild all of Easton, PA; a sister, Thelma F. Shorter of Atlanta, GA; two nieces, three nephews and other relatives and friends.
