Arrie Howard

July 15, 1929 — January 31, 2012

Arrie D. Howard passed away peacefully to rest in the arms of our God on Tuesday, January 31, 2012. She was born on July 15, 1929 in Eatonton, GA to the late Saint John and Ozzie Lee Reynolds. She spent much of her childhood traveling because her father was a minister. Years later, her family moved to Shellman, GA, where her father became the pastor of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church. She became a member of Bethel A.M.E., where she attended and served faithfully for over 50 years. During her years as a member, she served as president of the choir, secretary, and treasurer. In addition, she served as a missionary for the Southwest Georgia Conference until her health failed. Her education was received from Shellman Vocational High School, as well as Fort Gaines High School. She received her cosmetology license from the Washington Beauty Cultural School in Albany, GA. On September 17, 1966, she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Reverend Lester Howard. There were no children born to this union; however, she and her husband reared and raised three nephews as their own. She was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. She leaves to celebrate her life, legacy, and precious memories the three nephews she raised; Bobby Reynolds of Bremerton, WA, Robin (Mildred) Reynolds of Shellman, GA, Ricky (Teresa) Reynolds of Chambersburg, PA; two sisters, Maeola Delaney and Eunice Reynolds both of Raleigh, NC; one sister-in-law, Sarah Maxwell of Pensacola, FL; a loving nephew, Harold Smith of Atlanta, GA; a devoted great niece, Candice Walton of Albany, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
