Marian Martin Payne

Marian M. Payne was born to the late Beatrice and Robert Martin on July 4, 1944 in Carnegie, GA. She departed this life on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Kindred Hospital in Houston, Texas. At an early age , Marian joined Mt. Cilla A.M.E. Church in Carnegie, GA. She later joined Greater Bellwood Baptist Church in Columbus, GA, where she sang in the choir and served faithfully until her health failed. Marian was educated in the Randolph and Calhoun County School system. She graduated in 1963 from H.T. Singleton High School in Morgan, GA. After graduation, she moved to Columbus, GA. She worked as a telephone operator at Bell South telephone company until her health failed her. She was united in holy matrimony to Horace George Payne, Sr. and to this union one son was born. Marian was very instrumental. She assisted with the needs of many, helping anyone that needed help. She touched the lives of many people and will truly be missed. She leaves to cherish her memories a son Horace Payne, Jr. of Houston,Texas; two grandchildren, Horace Payne, III of Warner Robins, GA, Edward Alexander Payne of  Phenix City, AL; three sisters, Barbara Bailey of Cuthbert, GA, Paulette Washington of Seattle, WA, Rejeanie Becerra of Fontana, CA; nephews, Thomas J. Bailey, Jr., Thomas J. Bailey, III, Tyre Bailey, Bobby (Katie) Bailey, Zeven Bailey; nieces, Torri and Tamaia Wiggins, Treyonna Bailey, Tirzah Bailey; cousins, Donnell General, Linda Brown-Harris Anika Scott, Marsha Brown, Ethel Mae Jackson; loving, devoted friend Mary Smith and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.   click link to view video.www.tributeslides.com/videos/embedded_video/S8QPG5FWS9LW9RWS
