At an early age, she confessed Christ as her personal Savior.Ruby fought a great fight for years from her illness. A time to die on May 17, 2014, she was tired of fighting and departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest at Wilson Hospice House in Albany, GA.She was preceded in death by one loving son, Charlie R. Martin, and one loving daughter/niece, Corene Jones. She leaves to cherish her memories her loving children, Pacita Martin of Richmond, VA, Gussie Williams of Fort Valley, GA, John Arthur Martin (Sarah) of Cuthbert, GA, Mary Thompson (Mack) of Byron, GA, Florine Carter (Darrell) of Centerville, GA, Linda Johnson of Coleman, GA; three brothers, Calvin Martin of Boston, MA, Arthur Martin of Coleman, GA, Rev. James Martin (Bessie) of Blakely, GA; sister, Clara Mae Jordan of Coleman, GA; seventeen grandchildren, Charlita Martin, Shemeka Floyd, Renario Martin, Shalynndra Thompson, Thomas Carter, Malique Johnson, Marnique Williams, Monique Johnson, DeAnna Carter, Marquis Johnson, Darrell Carter, Jr., Jonisha Martin, Ka'Jon Martin; fourteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
