Alma Johnson, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, gracefully departed this world on September 28, 2025, at her residence in Cuthbert, Georgia. Born on May 18, 1947, in the same cherished town, her journey through life was marked by unwavering love and devotion to her family and community.
Alma's education took root in the Randolph County School System, a foundation that served her throughout her life. She dedicated herself to work at Kellwood Company, showcasing her industrious spirit, as well as finding joy in babysitting, deeply impacting the families she supported.
Alma leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will continue in the hearts of her family. She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Coleman and Tonnie Coleman, both residing in Cuthbert, GA. Her loving sister, Ruthem (Freddy) Haynes of Jacksonville, FL, and her nephews, Carl Johnson and Barren Johnson, also from Jacksonville, FL., share in the profound loss of a wonderful woman who touched their lives. Her granddaughter and grandsons, Tejah Coleman of Shellman, GA, Rod Williams from Colorado Springs, CO, and Takory (Vanessa) Coleman, hailing from Savannah, GA, and great nephew Patrick Johnson of Cuthbert, GA, carry forth her loving spirit. Additionally her nieces & nephews, she is fondly remembered by Lucy and Kenton Hardy, David and Fay Taylor, Jennifer Taylor, Bobby Taylor, and Willie, all from Montgomery, AL.
Alma's heart always resonated with the sounds of family laughter and gatherings, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She was a nurturing presence in the lives of her grandchildren, imparting wisdom, love, and countless cherished memories that they will hold dear.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Levi Johnson, her mother, Essie Lee Johnson, and her father, Doc Coleman, both from Cuthbert, GA. Her memory is also honored by her deceased sister, Dorothy Taylor of Montgomery, AL, and her brother, John Coleman from Delaware, all of whom have made their way into the arms of eternity before her.
Alma touched the lives of many and will be forever missed. Her gentle spirit and loving heart will live on in the stories we share and the memories we cherish. She has left a mark on this world that time will never fade, and her family takes solace knowing that she is now reunited with those who went before her.
