Eddy D. Smith

Eddy Dean Smith, was born June 24, 1950 to the late Thomas Willie and Mary Louise Smith in Stewart County, Georgia.

At an early age, Eddy accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and joined Bethel Baptist Church.

Eddy discovered his joy on the open road. He was a dedicated truck driver, spending his entire career behind the wheel.

On September 9, 2025, at his residency in Gurnee, IL, Eddy transitioned from this earthly life to his eternal rest.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Mary Smith and his sister, Bobbie R. Foster. 

Mr. Eddy Dean Smith is forever cherished by his children, Geneva (Jonnie) General of Morris, GA, Eric Smith of Cuthbert, GA and Eddy Smith of Palm Coast, FL; his siblings, Thomas Smith of Cuthbert, GA and Jeff (Doris) Smith of Myrtle Beach, SC; his grandchildren, Antonio (Keshawandra) Shingles, Keanna Smith, Tanyia Smith, Makayla Smith, Ariana Smith, Eddy Smith and Nykeishia Gordon; great grandchildren, Keelan Aria, Amelia Shingles, Meilani Holly, Xenia Washington and Zakhan Washington; a special friend, Tiffany Murray; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other family members and friends who loved him dearly.
