On July 9th, 1954, God placed a flower into His earthly garden under the care of Joe Wallace and Christine Rogers. This flower was given the name of Elmiria. She was the first child of four siblings. On April 8th, 2026, this flower departed this earth and was returned from which it came.
Sis. Elmiria gave her life to God at an early age. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She later joined Zion Rock Baptist Church, where she served as a choir member until her health failed.
She graduated from the Randolph County School System. Elmiria was employed by Pepperell Manufacturing in Abbeville, AL.
She was joined in marriage to the late Elijah Peterson. Her time of relaxation was spending time with her family and watching movies.
A loving mother of two wonderful children, Twana Peterson and SeKulve Peterson
Preceding her in death are her parents, Joe and Christine Rogers; three brothers, Tommy Rogers, Frank Rogers and Larry Rogers.
Cherishing her memories are one daughter, Twana Peterson and one son, SeKulve (Ethel) Peterson; one sister, Azzie Lewis; one sister-in-law, Rose Rogers of Cuthbert, GA; seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; one uncle, Norris (Karen) Rogers and one aunt, Betty Sturgan of Cocoa, FL; a special friend, Leroy Lewis of Cuthbert, GA; her church family; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
