Gladys Yvonne Walker, a beloved cherished companion, peacefully left this world on February 20, 2026, at the Joe-Anne Burgin Health & Rehabilitation facility. Born on December 5, 1946, in the quaint town of Cuthbert, GA, Gladys lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion.

From her early days in Cuthbert, she developed a passion for cooking and gardening that accompanied her throughout her life. Gladys was well- known for her culinary skills, delighting family and friends alike with her delicious meals made from the freshest ingredients. Her hands, often stained with soil, nurtured both plants and hearts, as she found joy in tending to her garden, creating bountiful harvests that she generously shared.

Education was important to Gladys, as she laid the groundwork for her later pursuits by attending public school in her hometown. She retained a curious mind and an eagerness to learn, which would serve her well as she navigated through life’s vast landscape.

A member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Gladys was deeply rooted in her faith which guided her, instilled in her a spirit of compassion, and anchored her family’s values. She brought warmth to the church community.

Gladys was a vibrant conversationalist, known for her charming phone calls that could brighten anyone's day. Whether discussing the latest gardening tips, sharing shopping insights, or weaving tales of her family’s history, her voice had a remarkable way of bringing comfort and joy.

Gladys’ legacy lives on through her children: Kathy Yvonne Walker, Jeffrey Grier, and Pamela Latasha Walker, all of Cuthbert, GA. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit within them, ensuring that her love and wisdom continue to echo through the generations. Her sister, Carolyn Perry Harris, remains a source of fond memories and shared laughter, dearly holding onto the bond they shared.

In addition to her living family members, Gladys is reunited in spirit with her beloved children who have previously passed away: Ernest Walker, Betty Walker, and Amy Davidson. The bond she shared with her children transcends life, embodying the profound love only a mother can know.
