Mr. John William Coleman Sr. was born on May 19, 1951, to the late Cooper Coleman Sr. and Alberta Coleman. He was a faithful and devoted member of Vilulah Missionary Baptist Church.
In 1968, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Annie Doris Coleman, and together they shared 48 loving years of marriage until her passing in 2017. John worked faithfully for many years at Cuthbert Tires, a job he truly loved, until an injury required him to retire. Following his retirement, he spent his days enjoying time with his wife and family.
Mr. John William Coleman Sr. transitioned peacefully to his heavenly home on January 21, 2026.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Annie Doris Coleman; his sons, Larry Coleman, William Coleman, and Randy Coleman (Delphinie); one sister Sandra Smith; and his brothers Eddie James Coleman (Georgia), Curtis Coleman (Annie Florence) and Daniel Coleman (Beverly).
He leaves to cherish his memory: his sons John W. Coleman Jr. of Shellman, GA, and Dextrell Coleman (Virginia) of Cuthbert, GA; one daughter, Terri Marcus (Arnold) of Cuthbert, GA; four sisters, Ethel Mae Gilbert and Christine Tillman, both of Cuthbert, GA, and Coleen Lewis and Cora Perry (Larry), both of Miami, FL; two brothers, Willie Coleman and Cooper Coleman Jr. (Helen), both of Albany, GA; two sisters-in-law, Gary Nell Glover and Brenda Grooms (Alexander), both of Cuthbert, GA; five brothers-in-law, Bragg Brookins Jr. (Stephanie), Dextrell Brookins, Lextrell Brookins, Eddie Brookins, and John Brookins Sr., all of Cuthbert, GA; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family would also like to express special gratitude to his granddaughter, Taniqua Coleman, and three devoted nieces Marissa Coleman, Betty Jean Starling and Betty Tamplin who lovingly cared for him medically until his passing.
