Joe was born on January 18, 1957 to the late Mr. Joseph E. Yelverton and Lynette Yelverton.
Joe attended the Randolph County Comprehensive High School. After graduating in 1975, he became self employed.
Joe married the love of his life, Shirley Knighton. This union combined two children, Kristi and Ray.
