Leon "Buddy" Sampson

Leon “Buddy” Sampson was born in Cuthbert, Georgia on April 2, 1950 to the late Mrs. Avery Sampson. He attended Henderson High and Elementary School in Cuthbert from 1956-1970.

During his early teens, Buddy developed a schizophrenic disorder which unfortunately, over the years progressed. Causing him to be quite disabled. Buddy, always a kind and gentle soul, was often seen walking the streets of Cuthbert talking to himself and to others he would meet.

Buddy loved to fish and hunt and enjoyed very much playing the guitar. Although he could never sing very well, he did learn to strum his old guitar quite well.

Buddy never married. He was preceded in death by his mother; his sister, Joelene Goldman of Miami, Florida and his brother, Donnie Sampson of Cuthbert, Georgia.

He leaves to cherish his memories, brothers, Frankie Sampson of Cuthbert, Georgia and Larry Sampson of Columbia, South Carolina. He also leaves ten nephews, one niece, and a multitude of cousins and friends.

We will truly miss our beloved “Buddy”!
