Lucindya Ellis

Sister Lucindya Ellis was born on February 26, 1921 to the late Frank and Mary Francis Hightower. She was one of her last seventeen siblings which has passed on. She departed her life on April 13, 2020 at her home. Lucindya was joined in holy matrimony to the late John Ellis. She joined the New Salem AME Church in Benevolence at an early age. There she served as the Mother of the Church until her health failed. She worked as a house cleaner for years and her hobbies included cooking, quilting and fishing. She leaves cherished memories to her five children, Mary Ellis of Cuthbert, GA, James Ellis of Shellman, GA, Marie Williams of Tampa, FL, Willie (Debbie) Franklin of Washington, NJ and Charlie (Jean) Ellis of Orlando, FL; A devoted goddaughter, Yvonne Mitchner of Cuthbert, GA; nineteen grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
