Mr. Marvin Jackson, Jr., affectionately known as “Nuke,” was born on October 21, 1972, in Cuthbert, Georgia, to the late Marvin Jackson, Sr. and Rosie Marie Jackson. On October 19, 2025, Marvin transitioned peacefully at Emory Hospital after courageously fighting a long battle with illness.
Marvin was a proud graduate of Randolph-Clay High School, Class of 1991. After graduation, he answered the call to serve his country as a United States Marine, a role that shaped his discipline, leadership, and love for service. His career journey reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence—he served faithfully as a truck driver for over 20 years, a grounds and maintenance supervisor at the Marine Corps Logistic Base in Albany, Georgia, and most recently as a security officer, until his health declined.
Marvin was a man of faith, compassion, and humor. He had a giving heart and a joyful spirit that touched everyone he encountered. He often reminded those around him that “everything is moving by the power of God.” One of his proudest accomplishments was becoming an ordained minister, through which he shared his love for God and encouraged others in their walk of faith. Marvin was baptized and a member of Greater Houston Grove Worship Center in Sasser, Ga.
He was united in holy matrimony to Felicia Jackson, his devoted wife of 26 years. Their union was blessed with one daughter—Marvelicia Jackson of Atlanta, Georgia. He was also the proud father of two sons, Dominique Jackson of Cuthbert, Georgia, and Cody Jackson (Shannon) of Sylacauga, Alabama, who held a special place in his heart.
Marvin’s legacy of love continues through his beloved grandchildren: Julian, D’Eria, A’Miyah, Ka’Leigh, Co'Mauri, and Carter. He also leaves to cherish his memory his sisters: Cecelia Jackson, Demetria Barber, and Amiya Jackson; mother-in-law: Sylvia Robinson; father-in-law: Kelvin Green (Peggy); brother-in-law: Dedrick Robinson; and sisters-in-law: Shmiko Hayes (Kelvin) and Porshia Jackson (Sherron). A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends will forever hold his memory dear.
In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his brother, Alex Jackson; sister, Deidra Jackson; brother-in-law, Jeremy Robinson; niece, Shantia Jackson; and great-nephew, Alexander Jackson.
Marvin loved to laugh, to help others, and to enjoy the simple blessings of life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was also an avid sports fan who loved cheering on the University of Georgia Bulldogs every football season. Above all, he was a man of God—a true example of faith, strength, and perseverance. Though his earthly journey has ended, his light continues to shine brightly in the hearts of all who loved him.
