Roberta was a beacon of strength and compassion. She carried herself with grace, warmly engaging with those around her, leaving an indelible mark on family, friends, and community alike. Her deep roots in Georgia, from Cuthbert to Georgetown, were a reflection of the steadfast spirit that defined her life.
Her family was the cornerstone of her existence. Roberta is survived by her beloved daughters, Annie Doris Burks of Cuthbert, GA, and Lee Ester Laseter of Georgetown, GA, who hold dear the values and love their mother instilled. Her brother, Clereance Alford of Jacksonville, FL, remains a living chapter of their shared childhood and lifelong bond. Together, they carry forward her legacy, enriched by her guidance, warmth, and unyielding support.
Roberta’s journey was also marked by the memories of those who preceded her in death. She was lovingly joined in eternity by her husband, Henry Engram; her son, Henry Engram, Jr.; and her sisters, Minnie Lee Fields and Ethal Lee Johnson. Though physically apart, their presence is felt in every story told, every tradition upheld, and every moment cherished by Roberta’s surviving family and friends.
In her long and vibrant life, Roberta witnessed and endured the changing tides of time with a spirit unbroken. Her legacy is woven through the stories of those she loved and who loved her in return.
