Servant of God, well done! Rest from your loved employ; the battle has been fought and victory has been won. Ronald Cedric Gadson, affectionately known as “Ron G”, was born in Hartford, Connecticut on August 7, 1964, to the Parentage of the late Rushiel and Mildred Thomas Gadson. At the tender age of ten, Ronald, his mother and his siblings relocated to Cuthbert, Georgia. It was there he attended and graduated as a student of Randolph and Randolph-Clay School System. Immediately following high school, Ronald studied briefly at Andrew College (Cuthbert, GA) and later transferred to Grambling State University earning both a Bachelor’s and a Master of History Degree. Ronald later attended Troy State University and earned his Education Specialist Degree (Ed. S). Ronald was a dedicated member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He pledged Grambling State University’s Delta Sigma Chapter in the Fall of 1985. Up until his death, he was an active member of the Pi Iota Lambda Chapter here in South Georgia. Ronald served as an Educator for over 30 years. His passion was teaching children and developing other Educators. Throughout his career, Ronald held various positions such as: Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Principal, Assistant Principal, Instructional Coach, and Transportation Services Behavior Disciplinarian. He has received several awards for his outstanding, impactful performance and service. He truly left his mark on his former students and colleagues. Ronald loved his community and was always willing to give unselfishly to affect change. He would often perform random acts of kindness such as paying for a stranger’s meal or organizing help initiatives for those in need. He truly gave with a cheerful heart. His philosophy was “It is better to give than to receive”. Ronald was married to Lori Clemons Gadson and together they had two children: Dr. Alexis Gadson and Corporal Austin Clemons. He had one granddaughter Little Miss Aubree Clemons. In addition to his wife and children, Ronald leaves behind siblings: Michelle Gadson Oliver, Vincent Gadson, Adrienne Gadson and Nicole Gadson. Brandon Gadson (cousin) was his honorary younger brother. He had two Brother in laws: Derrick Oliver and Jimmy Taylor. Ronald also leaves behind a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nephews, Nieces, Great Nephews and Nieces, and many friends. A special acknowledgement goes to his Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Ronald was a born again Christian and had an intimate relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
