Willie Gilford

October 8, 1960 — September 16, 2022

Mr. Willie C. Gilford was born on October 8, 1960 in Clay County, Georgia to the late Robert Gilford Sr. and the late Annie Nora Gilford. His parents and two siblings Brenda and Shill Gilford, all preceded him to Glory. Willie served in the United States Marines for 8 years and then as a Correctional officer at the United States Federal Penitentiary in Atlanta, GA for 30 years. He was considered the “Watchman” for his family and friends. He cared and loved from his heart and soul, was mighty in prayers and powerful with words of wisdom that brought about comfort to all. He truly believed in God and loved accordingly to the power of the word of God. To know him was a blessing, a gift like no other. Whatever problem was brought to him, he would say “It will be alright”, “I will pray about it and give you an answer” and “I will have to see what the Lord say’s about it”. His family and friends will miss receiving Christmas cards and the posts of “Eat Cake” on their birthdays. On Friday, September 16, 2022 Willie C. Gilford was granted eternal rest. Willie leaves cherished memories with his brother Robert Gilford, Jr (Carolyn) of Ft. Mitchell, AL; his sister Velma Goethe of Valdosta, GA; two aunts, Minnie Johns of Bluffton, GA and Josephine Johns of Albany, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, classmates and friends Video Tribute
