Willie L. Gilbert, Sr

Willie Lawrence Gilbert Sr., 79 of Miami, Florida was born on October 2, 1942. He was the son of the late Homer Gilbert and Essie B. Hamilton Gilbert. He transitioned this life on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. He was a truck driver until retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Essie Gilbert, one brother Johnny Gilbert, and one daughter Faye Gilbert Hinton. He leaves to cherish his memories: three children, Willie Lawrence Gilbert Jr. (Berna) of Rosemond, California, Sheila Gilbert of Cuthbert, Georgia, and Daryl Taylor (Chelsa) of Shellman, Georgia; Four brothers, Robert (Annie) Gilbert, Larry (Leslie) Gilbert of Destin, Florida, Samuel Gilbert of Montgomery, Alabama, and Eddie Ralph Gilbert of Grand Forks, North Dakota; Three sisters, Ezera Gilbert (Roderick) Holmes of Columbus Georgia, Trumilla Gilbert of Cordele, Georgia, and Wyolene Gilbert of Newport News, Virginia; a sister-in-law, Rosalind Gilbert of Columbus, Georgia; Twelve grandchildren, six great grand children, a host of nieces, cousins and friends.
